Sonicare Flexcare Toothbrush Ratings

The Philips Sonicare Flexcare toothbrush is the best at Electric Toothbrush Ratings for those with sensitive teeth and gums looking to start an oral care routine with an electric toothbrush. Those with sensitive teeth and gums tend to avoid powered brushes because they tend to be rough on the gums and teeth, causing bleeding and pain. Unfortunately, many people with sensitivity revert back to using a manual toothbrush with poor brushing habits after this experience.
The Easy-Start feature on the Flexcare helps users easily adjust to electronic brushing. The power of the toothbrush gently increases over the first 14 uses in order to help the user gently ease into the Sonicare experience. Remember, however, that because it gently increases automatically, this toothbrush should be only used by one user at first. I still haven’t figured out how to reset the brush back to first use mode but when I do, I’ll definately let you guys know so you can have multiple users.
This brush also makes it a standout performer because of its integrated UV sanitizer. This is the first electric toothbrush to incorporate this feature and for good reason too. Your toothbrush is a breeding ground for nasty, even fecal(poop), bacteria and viruses. The reason for this is that each time you flush the toilet, bacteria from your excretions are released into the air, and they just love to land on your toothbrush. The UV sanitizer causes mutations in the DNA, and prevents them from reproducing, eventually killing them.
Other features include:
- ProResults brushes (standard and mini) to provide complete cleaning and coverage in hard to reach areas
- Smartimer automatically shuts off after 2 minutes while the Quadpacer alerts users to change quadrants ever 30 seconds
- Three different brush modes: Clean (for a full cleaning), Sensitive (for gentle, yet effective brushing), and Massage (to promote healthy gums)
- Two types of routines: MaxCare for a thorough, 3 minute, twice daily cleaning and GoCare for a quick, 1 minute cleaning to use after meals.
The Flexcare was also designed smaller, lighter, and structured to have 80% less vibrations.
My Personal Use:
Overall, I was impressed with a few of the options on the Sonicare Flexcare Toothbrush but think it flaws because it is a one person only toothbrush and some of the others are pointless. The Easy-Start feature was a very smart design to help ease into the electric toothbrush experience, the UV sanitizer made me feel as if I was brushing with a new brush every time (a definite positive for a health freak like myself), the Quadpacer and Smartimer (a standard today) helped to gain a full brushing experience, and the GoCare routine was great for use after those garlic loaded meals.
However, providing two heads was not practicle. It’s not as if we can just pause the brush session, change heads, and continue on our two minute routine. Even if we could, how many of us would truly do so?
Also, the three modes should be changed to two, Clean and Sensitive. I’ve used plenty of brushes that provided a thorough clean and massage at the same time.
However, the Sonicare Flexcare Toothbrush, is a great starter brush and does do the job.
Electric Toothbrush Ratings grade: 7 out of 10 the toothbrush’s integration of a UV sanitizer and the Easy-Start system makes this toothbrush truly stand out. Unfortunatley, the added pointless features detract from its potential.
